Ascension Sunday:
Bidding farewell to a loved one is never easy. The Ascension marks the end of Christ's earthly mission. He had achieved the work he was sent to do. There is sadness in the hearts of the disciples. However his final words 'I am with you always. Go make disciples of all nations' gave them comfort and hope.

A Day of Prayer:
In preparation for the Eucharistic Congress the Catholic Charismatic Renewal are organising a day of prayer Saturday 26th May in the Citywest Hotel Saggart. Come and experience the Fire of a New Pentecost. Speakers include Fr. Pat Collins and Reverend Ruth Patterson. Optional donation to cover costs. Two hippies were walking down the street and stopped at a red light. A Catholic priest with his arm in a cast was waiting to cross “Hey, man” asked one, ”what happened?” “I fell in the bathtub and broke my arm,” replied the padre. One hippie turned to the other and asked, “What's a bathtub?” The other replied, “How do I know, I'm not a Catholic!”

Coffee Dock Volunteers
We urgently need extra volunteers  to help out in the Coffee Dock. Especially, during the summer months. If interested please leave your name and details in the parish office.

Cemetery Sunday
Next Sunday the 27th May is Cemetery Sunday in Shanganagh Cemetery. You are invited to the Annual Mass of Remembrance which takes place at 3pm.

Christian Meditation
The Parish Christian Meditation Group continues to meet throughout the summer months, every Tuesday at 8pm in the Parish Centre Harbour Room. All are welcome. No previous experience of meditation is necessary.

Congratulations to the 83 girls and boys of the Harold School who made their First Communion here yesterday. We pray that they will continue to grow closer to Jesus in the years ahead. A special thanks to the parents who helped with the Do This in Memory of Me Programme throughout the year.
