Ascension Sunday:
Bidding farewell to a loved one is never easy. The Ascension marks the end of Christ's earthly mission. He had achieved the work he was sent to do. There is sadness in the hearts of the disciples. However his final words 'I am with you always. Go make disciples of all nations' gave them comfort and hope.

Two hippies were walking down the street and stopped at a red light. A Catholic priest with his arm in a cast was waiting to cross “Hey, man” asked one, ”what happened?” “I fell in the bathtub and broke my arm,” replied the padre. One hippie turned to the other and asked, “What's a bathtub?” The other replied, “How do I know, I'm not a Catholic!”

Message from Archbishop Diarmuid Martin
“The Bishops of Ireland are deeply grateful for the donations given to the four National Collections which have been taken up since 2009 for the 50th International Eucharistic Congress.
Your support means that Ireland is able to extend a warm welcome to visitors to Dublin from Ireland as well as from all over the world for this very important event in the life of the Catholic Church in Ireland, which will take place from 10th to 17 June.  The Congress can be for the Church in Ireland a moment of renewal and I would ask you all to keep the event in your prayers.
Diarmuid Martin
Archbishop of Dublin”
