“Let the Risen Christ enter your life, welcome him as a friend, with trust :
He is life. If up till now you have kept him at a distance, step forward. He will receive you with open arms. If you have been indifferent, take a risk : you will not be disappointed. If following him seems difficult, don’t be afraid, trust him, be confident that he is close to you, he is with you and he will give you the peace you are looking for and the strength to live as he would have you do ”( Pope Francis ) “Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit”

The Annual Corpus Christi Procession will take place next Sunday, June 2nd.  commencing at the Church at 3pm. As we celebrate the Year of Faith, let us be proud to publicly profess our faith in the Church to which we belong, and its central mystery of the Eucharist that is carried in the procession. There will be a short procession during the Children’s’ Mass at 10.15 am.

Thank you for last Sunday’s offerings, Priests €1,539 and Share €975.

Our Concert by our American friends was a wonderful success. The music and choral singing exceeded all our expectations. The young students from Missouri were a joy to meet and chat with. My thanks to all parishioners who gave of their time and generosity. I’m told about half the audience was from outside the parish. €1,200  was raised. Thank you all.

Have you anything to say about the parish, our Church or our services, an idea, a recommendation or suggestion ?? We would love to hear from you. Please address your remarks to Liam Madden.

Catholic Dog:
Muldoon lived alone in the Irish countryside with only a pet dog for company. One day the dog died and Muldoon went to the parish priest and asked, 'Father, my dog is dead... Could ya' be saying' a mass for the poor creature?' Father Patrick replied, 'I'm afraid not; we cannot have services for an animal in the church. But there are some Baptists down the lane, and there's no tellin' what they believe. Maybe they'll do something for the creature.' Muldoon said, 'I'll go right away Father. Do ya' think $5,000 is enough to donate to them for the service?'
Father Patrick exclaimed, 'Holy Mary, Mother of Jesus! Why didn't ya tell me the dog was Catholic?'

The Oratory. The Parish Year of Faith committee organised a memorable visit to the Oratory on Library Rd. Dun Laoghaire this week. We enjoyed every minute and one cannot but be astounded at the truly unique beauty of the ornate craftsmanship found there. It was built in 1919 to house the Sacred Heart Statue which commemorated the onset of peace after the First World War by a Dominican Sister Concepta Lynch. It has been remarked that “Her striking originality with such warmth, richness and vitality is testament to one of Ireland’s greatness artists and a fitting legacy to her life’s work. The jewel(s) on the crown are the Windows made by the Harry Clarke studios. For the memory of a lifetime, make up your mind to go and see the Oratory.

Angela Haskins is holding her monthly Coffee Morning this Sunday in aid of the Parish Development Fund.
