What is God saying today in the scripture readings ?
Our lives can become full of non stop activity. So we lose our freedom and end up slaves to work and sometimes useless pastimes. Activity becomes a disease. Even Jesus needed to take time out for himself. “ And so early in the morning---“ Here he recovered lost energy. It helped him to keep focused and above all else, during these hours of solitude, he prayed to the Father and grew in grace and strength. The Pope reminded us in the Phoenix Park “ Busy yourself with the work of the Lord, but do not forget the Lord of the work ”

Who Wants to Go to Heaven?
Father Murphy walks into a pub in Donegal, and says to the first man he meets, "Do you want to go to heaven?" The man said, "I do, Father."The priest said, "Then leave this pub right now!" and he approached a second man. "Do you want to go to heaven?" "Certainly, Father," was the man's reply.
"Then leave this den of Satan," said the priest, as he walked up to O'Toole. "Do you want to go to heaven?" "No, I don't, Father," O'Toole replied. The priest looked him right in the eye, and said, "You mean to tell me that when you die you don't want to go to heaven?" O'Toole smiled, "Oh, I do Father but I thought you were getting a group together to go right now. !"
